Ryland Lee Phelps, Sr., 84, of Amarillo, Texas died Tuesday, October 24, 2023 in Amarillo, Texas.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 28, 2023 in Claude Cemetery in Claude.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors.
Ryland was born March 21, 1939 in Lamar, Oklahoma to Carl Burton and Opal Othel Arthur Phelps. He proudly served our country in the US Army. He had been a longtime resident of Amarillo where he worked for ASARCO for 36 years prior to his retirement. He was a hard worker, enjoyed being with his family, camping, and fishing at Lake Texoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Melody Kay Phelps; 1 brother; and 3 sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Earlene Phelps of Amarillo; his son, Ryland Phelps, Jr. of Hereford; and several extended family.
The family request memorials be sent to the VA.
