Ruth Geneva Wallace Mills' Obituary
CLARENDON SERVICES - 1:00 pm Wednesday, April 30, 2008 in Robertson Funeral Directors Chapel Of Memories in Clarendon. INTERMENT - Citizens Cemetery Ruth was born November 1, 1913, in Muncie, Indiana to Raymond Wallace and Candice Mansfield Mills. She married Melville Mills on June 14, 1936, at Wichita Falls, Texas. Ruth moved to Amarillo in 1943 and was employed by Boys Ranch before working at Bivins Public Library. In 1970, Ruth and her husband built a home and moved to Howardwick. Mrs. Mills was instrumental in starting the Donley County Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarendon and had been active in the Skelton Sunday School Class there. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY - her parents; her husband, Melville Mills on September 16, 2005; and by all of her brothers and sisters. SURVIVORS - 1 son, Ray Mills of Dallas, TX; and 1 daughter, Sharon Thomas of Clarendon, TX. The family request memorials be to the Clarendon First United Methodist Church, Medical Center Nursing Home, or a favorite charity.
