Ruth was born in Lone Wolf, OK to Abner Carl and Harriett Hartzog. She lived a wonderful life surrounded by loving family and friends. She married Thomas John Perkins on August 29, 1937 in Clarendon. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1994. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Wood and a brother Harry Hartzog. She lived in Clarendon most of her life until moving to Cedar Hill, TX in 1998. Ruth, her husband, and a sister in law, Grace Parker owned and operated Parker-Perkins variety store in Clarendon for many years. She was very active in the First Baptist Church and several community activities in Clarendon.
SURVIVORS - a daughter, Pam Overstreet of Cedar Hill, TX; a son, Pat Perkins of Scottsdale, AZ; 4 grandchildren, Robert Edgar, Champ Hagen, and Hannah Ruth Overstreet of Cedar Hill, TX and Zanna Perkins of Chico, CA; a sister, Alice Johnson of Clarendon; and two brothers, Carl Hartzog of Ft. Worth, TX and L. B. Hartzog of Silver City, NM.
