Rodney Allen Gillmore's Obituary
Rodney Allen Gillmore, 78, of Claude, Texas went home to glory June 24, 2025.
Family directed memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 11 AM at Great Plains Western Church with Pastor Royce Mason officiating.
Rodney was born April 8, 1947 in Pampa, Texas to Guss and Opal Gillmore. They moved to Amarillo when he was 18 months old. He joined the US Navy when he was 18 years old and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
On November 16, 1985, Rodney married the love of his life, Dena Fishgrab. They were married for 39 ½ years. He loved to work, smoke BBQ, and spend time with his family. His kids and grandkids brought him the most joy of his life.
Rodney was preceded in death by his son, Colby Gillmore; parents, Guss and Opal Gillmore; brothers, Jimmy, Freddy, Phillip, and Denny Gillmore; sisters, Arlene Gillis, Del Fowler, and Betty Hadsell.
He is survived by his wife, Dena Gillmore of the home; son, Brandon and wife Mary of Amarillo; daughter, Kodi Gardner and husband Devree of Dalhart, TX; daughter, Sandie Gillmore of Claude, TX; sister, Debbie Mitchell; grandchildren, Gage and Conner Gillmore, Ryley and Grady Denson, Ambrie and Maverick Gardner, Seth, Robby, and Skylee Gillmore, Gabrien Sullivan, and Xaiden Escamilla; great-granddaughter, Xayla Escamilla; and many nieces and nephews.
