Roderick Bernard Johnson's Obituary
Roderick Bernard Johnson passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022, in Amarillo, Texas.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at the Church of Christ in Memphis. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Viewing will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at the funeral home with family receiving friends from 4:00-6:00 pm for visitation.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
Roderick Johnson was born in Greenwood, Mississippi, on December 19, 1985, to Carla Johnson Smith and Marcus Smith. Roderick attended Amanda Elzy High School and was a graduate of Amanda Elzy High School. Roderick then moved to Fort Worth in 2011. Roderick met his wife, Rosalyn Johnson, on October 12, 2012. They had their first son, Jumarkus Johnson, on January 3, 2014. Roderick accepted Christ at the age of 28. He married his wife October 6, 2014. They had twins, Ja’kaidynce and Jayceon Johnson, on November 22, 2014. Roderick loved the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing with his children, and playing Madden with his friends.
Roderick is preceded in death by his father Marcus Smith; his grandparents, Sammie Lee Smith, Betty Jean Smith, Hayward Johnson and Cora Johnson; and a special cousin, Tiffany Hudson .
Those who will cherish his life and keep his memories are his wife, Rosalyn Johnson; his children, Jumarkus Johnson, Ja’kaidynce Johnson, Jayceon Johnson, and step son, Justavian Hernandez. His mother, Carla Smith and stepfather William Smith; mother in law, Sandy Richardson and father in law Woodrow Richardson; two sisters, Iesha Johnson, and Ashley Norwood (Marcus Sr.); four brothers, Kendrick Johnson, Kevin Tigue, Kari’ Dupree, Marcus Benson; and a host of brothers and sister in laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends
