Brenda and family, I am saddened to hear of Bob's passing. I send my love and many hugs to you all and regret that I cannot be at the services. Bob was one of my mother's, Caroline Stokes Mullins, many first cousins. She called him "Robert Joe" until he was well into his 50's when he finally told her that he didn't like to be called by his whole name. She asked what he wanted to be called. He told her, "Just Bob." I'm chuckling at the memory. Mom had her own names for almost everyone. The last couple of family reunions that Mom, a couple of my brothers and I attended Bob and Brenda were there. We enjoyed catching up with you and hated parting from you all. May God comfort you in your time of loss and grieving. We grieve, but not as those who have no Hope. All my love, ~Renee
Dear Brenda and family, Please accept our heartfelt sympathy in your time of sorrow with the passing of Bob. Only those who have lost a husband can know the depths of your feelings. We pray you and your children have the strength to bear your sorrows.Sincerely, Jan & Alan Collins
It was an honor to assist with Mr. Stokes' care. We will miss him. We had several mutual acquaintances and we enjoyed talking about them.
I am so sorry to hear of the death of my younger cousin. I know he had been in poor health for several years and I am positive that his death is God's blessing. I will not be able to attend the service but will be there in spirit. My prayers are with the family.Gene
Robert and I were just 29 days apart in age (I was the oldest) Growing up in Wheeler County we went to Grade school together for 4 and a half yrs. before my family moved to Wheeler. I knew Robert into the High School years and knew the McNabb family also. Sorry Brenda for you loss. Paul
