Robert "Bob" Hink's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Hink of Wheeler, TX passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 in Wheeler at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 11 days. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Cornerstone Church in Wheeler, with Erron Mercer officiating. Burial will follow at Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM on Friday at 1322 S. Mobeetie St. in Wheeler.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Bob was born on May 5, 1944 in Wheeler, TX to Irvin and Dorothy (Henderson) Hink. He was a lifelong resident of Wheeler County. He married Linda Rogers on September 6, 1962 in Booker, TX. Much of his life was centered around farming and ranching. He always took great pride in being able to grow things and provide for others. He served 3 consecutive terms as a Wheeler County Commissioner. In addition, he served on several other Ag Boards and School Boards over the years, as well as other volunteer organizations. Bob was an avid supporter of kids and loved attending their activities and sports games. He was a member of Cornerstone Church in Wheeler.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Dorothy Hink; 2 daughters, Janice Hink Kemp and Janette Hink Umsted; and 2 sisters, Gwendolyn Hink and Sue Hink Anderson.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Hink of Wheeler; his son, Jason Hink and wife, Jennifer of Wheeler; 4 grandchildren, Brennan Umsted and wife, Megan of Amarillo, Landry Umsted and Kade Kemp, both of Wheeler, and Jocelyn Sanders of Pampa, TX; and numerous other family members. He had a great grandson on the way.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to any volunteer fire department in Wheeler County.
