Robert E. "Bob" Glenn was born June 16, 1927, in Heidenheimer TX, to Clifford and Noble Gardner Glenn. After leaving school he joined the Navy and was stationed in Guam. He married Martha Grace Wilson on August 4, 1953 and they shared 62 years of marriage. After working road construction for the first year of their marriage and moving several times, they settled in McLean TX where they lived for 54 years. He was a member of the McLean United Methodist church for over 60 years.
Bob worked for the City of McLean for 39 years where he served as City Superintendent. There was nothing he enjoyed more than "blading the streets of McLean" on the city's motor grader. He was so proud that he was able to operate the machine on a part time basis until he was 81 years old.
Bob and Grace moved to Amarillo to the Talmage on the Park Central campus in 2008 where they made many friends and enjoyed all the actives there.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Roy Glenn; his sister Faye Gould and her husband Curtis.
Survivors include his wife Grace, one daughter, Rachel Melville, of Naperville IL and her husband Gerald; two grandchildren, Tana Diedrich, and her husband, Ben, of Chicago, and Josh Melville, of Grand Prairie; two great nieces Wendy Lee and Tracy Awalt.
The family suggests memorials be to the First United Methodist Church in McLean or the American Cancer Society.
