To the Clark family. My deepest sympathy to the family, he was a great man, patriot, father and friend. My dad, Jiggs Walls, was the same age and they certainly enjoyed their visits. My sister and I met Robert for the first time this past year. We were visiting, Retha June Stewart, a long time friend of our family. Robert was the childhood friend of our uncle, Franell Eugene Spencer (our mother’s brother) known to us as Uncle Sonny. We were graciously welcomed into Robert’s home by his wife and 2 daughters for a memorable visit. Robert told us stories of he and Uncle Sonny’s childhood days together in Lesley, and we shared our uncles adult life after serving in the military. We shared pictures of Uncle Sonny and his family to help bring Robert up to date on Uncle Sonny’s life in later years. It was a wonderful visit and Robert and his family made us feel like we had known their family forever. We’re so grateful we were able to meet Robert and make a connection from our family’s life in Lesley in the early 1900’s. Precious memories.
The precious memories that I have of Robert and his Family will be in my heart forever. I loved this Family as we were families friends and watched each other grow up and marry and have our own Families. Our Family spent many Summers in Colo camping and had the best time. One year we had the largest tent in the Campground. Lot of people laughed as they said only Texans would have a tent that large. That is right. We did. Robert and Becky are special couple as they were married a long long time and always had a smile on their face. Robert Thank you for your Service to Our Country and I can still hear you telling stories about when you were over seas. I knew of no one else who wore the hat that you did to Farm. It was neat. God Bless you and we will be praying for Your Family as they say good bye for now and know you will be waiting on your Family to join you. In the meantime enjoy visiting with Danny again. So sorry I will not be able to come to Roberts funeral! What a blessing it was to know him! Rodney loved visiting with his uncle Robert! He loved the memories and stories he shared! This precious family will be in my thoughts and prayers! Luv u Gaylynn Clark
