SERVICES – 11:00 AM Saturday, July 11, 2015 in the Robertson Funeral Directors Route 66 Chapel in McLean with Rev. Thacker Haynes, officiating.
INTERMENT – Alanreed Cemetery in Alanreed.

Robert was born May 15, 1922 in Donley County to Paul and Linnie Bruce. He married Anita Rowe on May 17, 1943. He was a US Coast Guard veteran serving in World War II. Robert was a long time resident of Alanreed and worked for his grandfather and father at Bruce Nursery that his grandfather started in the early 1900’s. He was a school board member for over 20 years, and spent his life active in Alanreed Baptist Church where he was a training union teacher and a deacon for many years. He and his stories will be truly missed.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY – his parents; his wife in 2003; a son, Bob Bruce; a grandson, Robert Shawn Bruce; and 3 brothers, Travis, Truman, and Jim.
SURVIVORS – a daughter, Sandra Bethune of Midland; 3 grandchildren, Nikki Day and husband Jason, Paul Bruce and wife Sarah, and Kay Keese and husband Sid; and 7 great grandchildren, Winter, Falon, Matthew, Keeley, Ashuna, Aramado, and Velea.
