Robert Nelson Brown's Obituary
Robert Nelson Brown, 75, of Wheeler died Friday, May 18, 2018, in Wheeler.
Services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, May 23, 2018 in Cornerstone Church in Wheeler with Rev. Erron Mercer, officiating. Burial will follow at Wheeler Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Robert was born December 25, 1942 in Reydon, Oklahoma to Elmer and Ruby Loretta West Brown. He married Dena “Mutt” Holt on February 25, 1967 in Wheeler. He was a US Army veteran. He had been a longtime resident of Wheeler where he was a member of the Masonic Lodge and American Legion. Robert retired from Phillips Petroleum. He loved camping and was an awesome family man. He was a member of the Cornerstone Church in Wheeler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on November 1, 2011; a daughter, Debra Faye Brown; 2 brothers, Dale Brown and Elmer Brown, Jr.; 2 sisters, Patricia Scott and Opal Childress; and 2 grandsons.
Survivors include 2 sons, H.L. Owens and wife Pam Albright and Roger Brown and wife Mandy all of Wheeler; 2 daughters, Kathy Lane and husband Dewayne and LaDena Taylor all of Wheeler; a brother, James Brown and wife Debbie of Midland; 2 sisters, Nelda Babb and husband James of Wheeler and Brenda Davis and husband Jerry of Granbury; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
The family request in lieu of flowers that memorials be sent to the Wheeler American Legion.
