Robert Lee Stubbs of Alanreed, Texas passed away peacefully on his McClellan creek farm after a courageous 20-year battle with cancer. He was one of two children born to the late William Foreman Stubbs and Alice Townsend Stubbs Donald. After graduating from McLean High School in 1956, he served in the US Army from 1958-1961. He worked onboard the Daniel Boone Nuclear Submarine carrying Polaris missiles as a contractor for General Dynamics in both Texas and California. He was crucial in the development of Diacom in the Bay Area, then transferring to Dallas, Texas. He was as passionate about computers and electronics as he was about his life and home on McClellan Creek. He was an absolute genius in everything he did. In 1971 he moved his family to his childhood home where he grew up five miles north of Alanreed on McClellan Creek. He worked for Celanese and was an electronics supervisor until his retirement in 2000. His farm was so very special to him and Emma, they put many loving hours in making it as beautiful as it is today. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of McLean and an active member of the communities.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a wife, Rebecca Wren Barker-Stubbs in 1994 and nephew Wade Greenhouse in 1988.
Bob will forever be remembered by his loving wife Emma Pechtel Stubbs; children Theron Stubbs of Houston, Scott Stubbs of Dallas, Lee Erin Koehler and husband Kelcey of Canyon; sister Kay McMennamy and husband Jerry of Alanreed; grandchildren Jennifer Hammel and husband Matthew, Jana Stubbs, Dannie Stubbs, Chisum and Cross Koehler, Jamie Dauer.
