McLEAN SERVICES- 1:30 pm Monday, November 16, 2009 in the First United Methodist Church in McLean with Rev. Thacker Haynes, Pastor, officiating. GRAVESIDE SERVICES AND INTERMENT - 4:00 pm, Tuesday, November 17, 2009 in Highland Cemetery in Deport, Texas with Rev. Debra May, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Deport, officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of McLean. Bob was born in McLean on July 27, 1929, the first child of Bob and Helen Black, who preceded him in death. He graduated from McLean High School, McMurry University, received a Masters Degree from North Texas State University, and served his country in the United States Army. He taught school in Borger then served as an Associate Minister at the First Methodist Church in Pampa. His primary life work was many years as the Director of the Doss Memorial Youth Center in Seminole, Texas, where he touched the lives of many young people. He retired to McLean and took excellent care of his mother during her later years. He was a lifelong member of the McLean Methodist Church and served there in many capacities. SURVIVORS - his sister, Jan Edwards and husband Larry of Albuquerque, NM; three nieces, Mrs. Evan Smith and husband Duane of Pampa and their children Shelley, Steven, and Sarah, Amy Edwards of Albuquerque, NM and Anna Edwards Brown and husband Russ of Seattle, Washington and their children Andrea, Julian, and Curt. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Wayne Edwards. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, The family requests that memorials be to the First United Methodist Church in McLean.
