Deepest sympathy. My heart and prayers are with you.
Dear Juanita and family,I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was such a nice man. As you may remember, you and Bob were the first people I talked to before Pieceful Heart Fabrics was open. You both were so nice to me and I have enjoyed your kindness and smiles over the years. I'm sure you have many, many warm memories and I hope those are of comfort to you at this difficult time. My best to you all. God's blessings and peace. Your friend, Gina
My father may be at his final resting place in Clarendon but he is with me everyday.I'm grateful my father taught me the importance of being honest, having integrity, and acting responsibly. Dad is with me when I work. When I am with my sons, Robert and David, I see my father in their dry humor and quick wit. My dad is with us when we are together. When I see "Jeopardy" on T.V., I hear Dad giving the correct answers. When I eat a Snickers bar, a chocolate malt, or a piece of chocolate fudge, I'm sharing it with Dad.When I see a train, I think of Dad's successful career with the Santa Fe.When I have a question about geography, history, science, nature, or sports, I remember how Dad could accurately answer it in a second. I can feel him looking over my shoulder as I hunt for the answer. When I watch my wife struggle as a novice gardener, I think of Dad's green thumb. When I go camping, eat crabs or a tamale, or put on my sandals (which are only for HIPPIES), or pull on my cowboy boots (which are only for TEXANS), Dad's by my side. When I am car shopping, Dad is there negotiating a lower price for me.My Dad was a fun, honest and hardworking guy. I am proud he is a part of me and my sons. I feel lucky to have good memories of him that make me feel as if he is with me every day.
Elaine, My ??Sympathy to you and your family; I hope you remember our youth together in ClarendonI love you.Gale Baker
My dad and mom, Jerry and Barbara Flynn have been friends of Bob and Nita Beard for many years. Bob and my dad worked together at the Santa Fe. Then as an adult, I was able to form my own friendship with Bob when we both lived in Naperville, Illinois. He was always such a nice, considerate man and I am glad I got to know him. My thoughts and prayers are with all the Beard family during this very sad time. Melody Flynn Hall and family
Juanita & Family:Was vey sorry to hear of your loss. Bob was not only a good friend and fellow railroader, but a strong supporter of the Traffic Club of Chicago and T.O.T.S. (Transportation Old-Timers Society). He will be missed. My sympathy to you all.Ray Holloway, President T.O.T.S.; also Past President - Traffic Club of Chicago
