Richard Lynn Bennett's Obituary
Richard Lynn Bennett born October 18, 1950 to J. Forrest and Ruby Lasswell Bennett of Armstrong County, Texas.
Richard graduated from Claude High School in 1969 and West Texas State University in 1974. He began his career with Soil Conservation Service in 1977 in Spearman, Texas. He moved to Stinnett, Texas in 1982 as the District Conservationist until his retirement in 2010. He volunteered at the Alibates National Flint Query for 2 years. He moved to Wayne, Nebraska in August 2020.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Nathan Bennett, Gordon Bennett; and sister, Sue Beth Sorrells.
Survived by his wife, Phyllis of the home in Wayne, Nebraska; sons, SFC John Bennett, USA, and Richard K. and wife, Amy of Norfolk, NE; grandchildren, Hannah and Ian of Hollister, CA, Bryley Bates of Amarillo, and Tess Bates of Norfolk, NE; brother, Murry Bennett of DFW; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved 4 legged baby, Boscoe.
Memorial graveside services will be 1:30 PM Saturday, June 5, 2021 in Claude Cemetery with visitation following at the Family Life Center of the Claude United Methodist Church.
Local arrangements are by Robertson Claude Chapel.
