CLAUDEGRAVESIDE SERVICES - 11:00 AM Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Silverton Cemetery in Silverton with Rev. Jason Huntington, chaplain with Hospice Care of the Southwest, officiating.Viewing will be Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Robertson Armstrong Chapel from 1:00-6:00 pm.INTERMENT- will be in Silverton Cemetery in Silverton.Arrangements are by Robertson Armstrong Chapel of Claude. Rex was born May 17, 1932 in Silverton, Texas to Tom and Eula Wood Crawford. He married Glenna Queary on January 10, 1958 in Morton, Texas. Rex had served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He had worked in the oil fields and trucked most of his life, but had also been the Water Superintendent for the City of Morton, the City Manager for the City of Seagraves, and a Water Production Engineer for the City of Andrews. After holding those positions, he came to the panhandle and farmed with his brother, JE Crawford, at Conway, Texas until his retirement in 1987. Rex moved from Panhandle to Claude six years ago and was a Methodist.PRECEDED IN DEATH BY – his parents; all 3 brothers, J.E., Don, and Tommy CrawfordSURVIVORS – his wife, Glenna Crawford of Claude; 2 daughters, Marilyn Gates and husband Elvin of Lubbock, Ronda Kay Merryman and husband Doyle of Clinton, Arkansas; 5 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. The family request memorials be sent to Hospice Care of the Southwest.
