Rebecca Clark's Obituary
Rebecca Clark, 95, of Memphis TX, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 24, 2025.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Robertson Funeral Directors Heritage Chapel in Memphis. Viewing and visitation will be held prior to the service from 9 - 11 AM. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
Rebecca was born October 3, 1929 in Eli, TX to Grover and Mame (Dennis) Moss. She attended Eli schools and graduated from Memphis High School. She often recalled attending the tabernacle in Eli and being baptized in a pond north of Eli where the cattle were kept away so the water would be clean.
Rebecca attended Durham's Business College and was employed at Duncan Company Wholesale Auto Supply in Fort Worth. She married Robert Lee Clark of Lakeview March 26, 1948 in Fort Worth. They resided in the Eli community many years before moving to Memphis. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Memphis.
Rebecca was known as Becky by many. She enjoyed being active with family, friends, quilting club, and participating in her childrens' activities. Rebecca worked tirelessly canning vegetables, making pickles, and processing chickens for the freezer and hauled many loads of cotton to the gin. A new challenge of wallpapering; refinishing furniture; or installing wall paneling was an easy task for her. She enjoyed fishing and camping trips, reading, and collecting rocks. She was a wonderful seamstress- making both of her daughters a new wardrobe twice each year as well as dresses for proms. Later, she made blankets and clothes for grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Clark; son, Daniel Lee Clark; infant grandson, Jerry Michael Havins; and brothers, William, Robert, Ben, James, and sister, Lois Taylor.
Rebecca is survived by her son Gaylon Clark and wife Connie of Lockney, daughter Holly Taylor and husband Floyd of Memphis, and daughter Susan Havins and husband Jerry of Fort Worth. Also, grandchildren Keith and Lori Clark of Granbury, Teresa and Paul Wolgamott of Fort Worth, Angela and Brian Taylor of Flower Mound, and Janice and Jason Hise of Keller, and eleven great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Lakeview Cemetery or your favorite charity.
