Reba Joyce Wright's Obituary
Reba Joyce Wright was born on June 14, 1941, to Dewey "Med" Wyche and Lela B. Jones Wyche, at Cummings Ranch in the small community of Lawrence, Oklahoma, located four miles southwest of Ada. Reba passed to her Lord’s eternal kingdom, through the blood of her savior, Jesus Christ, on January 13th, 2025.
She began her education at McLish School in Fittstown, Oklahoma, before her family moved to Roswell, New Mexico, where she graduated from Roswell High School.
Reba worked for Walmart for many years in both Kentucky and Oklahoma, ultimately retiring at the Walmart in Woodward, Oklahoma. Reba moved to Claude in 2011 and made the community her final earthly home. She was a quiet and reserved lady, but enjoyed her volunteer work at the Claude Treasure Chest, and valued her friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bobby Wright, her siblings Tommy (and wife Jeannie) Wyche, Ray (and wife Lois) Wyche, Vonda (and husband Walter) Black, Doris (and husband Dal) Rice, and her infant sister, Dortha Wyche.
She is survived by her loving children, Buddy and Sheri Wright of Fittstown, OK; David and Rhonda Wright of Sandy Hook, KY; Lisa Nance of Seiling, OK; Lora and Tim Young of Claude, TX; and her sister-in-law and dear friend of over 60 years, Faye Wright Jarrells of Sandy Hook, KY. Her legacy lives on through her 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Reba dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren, pouring her love and care into every moment. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and loyal friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone around her. Her absence will be deeply felt and her memory forever cherished.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, January 18, 2025, at First Methodist Church of Claude with Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Claude Cemetery.
Viewing will be held on Friday, January 17th at Robertson Claude Chapel from 1 - 6 PM with family receiving friends for visitation from 4 - 6 PM
