SERVICES- 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in First United Methodist Church in McLean with Rev. Thacker Haynes and Rev. Lewis Holland, officiating.
INTERMENT- Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of McLean.
R.C. was born to Claude Urban and Lizzie Mae Boshart Parker at Box Elder, Texas on December 2, 1923.
He departed for home in Heaven March 2, 2014.
R.C. grew up in the Texas Panhandle graduating from Mobeetie High School in 1941. He was a World War II veteran, enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. Assigned to the Fourth Marine Division, R.C., participated in military action against the Japanese on Roi and Namur in the Marshall Islands, and Iwo Jima. He was a given a unit citiation for valor on Iwo Jima. He married Martha Lou Hogan on January 4, 1948 in Mobeetie. R.C. served as Highway Patrolman for the Texas Department of Public Safety from 1952-1982. He served 8 years as Justice of the Peace in Gray County from 1983-1991. Completing a long career in law enforcement, R.C. served as bailiff of the 232nd District Court from 1991-1993. A man of deep faith, a lifelong Methodist, R.C. was always ready to serve as needed by the McLean United Methodist Church. Rest in peace, Semper Fi.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY- his parents, Claude and Mae Parker; sisters, Alene Skinner, Novalene Simpson, Reba Blair, Marie Gudgel, and Doris Scribner; and an infant son, Randall Craig Parker.
SURVIVORS: his wife of 66 years, Martha Lou Parker; sons, Bryan and wife Sheri, Brad and wife Brenda, Ken and wife Renee; daughter, Michele Bell and husband Kenneth; grandchildren, Derek, John, Mindy, Matthew, Aaron, Kristen, Carrie, Adam, Noelani and Georgia; 11 great grandchildren and many beloved nephews and nieces.
