Raymond H. Woodard's Obituary
Raymond Hersey Woodard of Hedley, Texas died at his home on Saturday June 26, 2021.
Cremation and arrangements are by Robertson’s Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
A graveside service will be held at Rowe Cemetery, Hedley, Texas on Saturday July 31, 2021 at 10:00 am. It is to be followed by a Celebration of Life luncheon at the First Baptist Fellowship Hall in Hedley.
Raymond was born in Groom, Texas on June 23, 1956 to Raymond and Joyce Woodard. He married Nancy Long on May 29, 1976 in Plainview, Texas. Raymond was in construction prior to health problems. Despite his numerous health issues Raymond never complained nor thought of himself as sick. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He never ceased his concern and care for his family. While his family was a top priority, basketball was a close second. Raymond enjoyed playing the game as a young man and watching his daughters and grandchildren play. He loved the NBA and was enjoying the playoffs at the time of his death. Raymond also had a great love of music and corny jokes.
Raymond was preceded in death by his father, Raymond ‘Toby’ Woodard and brother, Randy Woodard.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Rachel Barnett and husband Rance of Amarillo, and Christina Woodard of Hedley; and six grandsons: Keegan Barnett, Ryan Barnett, Aden Woodard, Cameron Barnett, Gabriel Woodard, and Jace Barnett. He is also survived by his mother Joyce Woodard of Memphis, sister Kim King and husband Johnny of Hedley, sister
Twannah Hall and husband Eric of Borger, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family of Raymond would like to express their thanks to the many friends and family members who stood by them through the years. They also request memorials be to Rowe Cemetery Association PO Box 213 Hedley, Texas.
