Ralph Justiss' Obituary
GOODNIGHT GRAVESIDE SERVICES- 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 25, 2011 in Goodnight Cemetery in Goodnight with Rev. Delbert Serratt, officiating. INTERMENT- Goodnight Cemetery in Goodnight. Arrangements are by Robertson Armstrong Chapel of Claude. Viewing will be Tuesday, May 24, 2011 from 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM and 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM Wednesday. Ralph was born December 8, 1923 in the family home located West and South of Goodnight to Jesse and Ruth Justiss. Upon graduating from Goodnight High School he attended Texas A&M University where he was drafted into the Army. After returning home he went into the farming, ranching, and feedlot business with his dad on the family land. In 1954 he married Glenda Mae Mitchell and on the 7th of May they celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. With the exception of time spent in the military service he lived his entire life on the home place. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed traveling and spoke of the many cruises he and his wife had taken and their numerous trips to Hawaii. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Claude. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY - his parents; and 2 brothers, Dick and Mack Justiss. SURVIVORS - his wife, Glenda; a son, Jim Justiss and wife Teresa of Goodnight; 3 step children, Don Mitchell and wife Beverly of Yuma, Arizona, Sherry Payne and husband Don of Wichita Falls, and David Mitchell of Lubbock; 7 grandchildren, Thomas Justiss, Chris Eaton, Robin Davis, Valerie Munk, Glenn Price, Dean and Travis Mitchell; and 10 great grandchildren. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS - The family suggest memorials be to the Goodnight Cemetery Association, PO Box 387, Claude, TX 79019.
