Paul Hastings Sr. of Shamrock, TX passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024 in Shamrock at the age of 80 years, 6 months and 10 days. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at First Methodist Church in Shamrock, with Jeremiah Soto officiating. Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Wichita, KS.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
Paul Hastings Sr. was born on April 29, 1944 in Cheney, KS to Dorothy (Naureth) and Ray Hastings. He was one of 16 children, outliving all but one. He grew up in Cheney, Kansas and spent his high school years in Hale Center. Paul went to Hale Center High School where he met Betty Ballinger, and they married. They had four children, who eventually gave them 15 great grandchildren who called him Papaw. He had many nieces and nephews that lived in Texas, Kansas, and many other states. He loved his family dearly, just as they loved him.
Paul loved to laugh and reminisce on his favorite memories. He served in the United States Army and moved to Shamrock, TX in 2006. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Shamrock. Paul was well-known for his love of cars and President Trump. He proudly sported his veteran Trump hat and overalls everywhere he went. Paul will be dearly missed.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Ray Hastings; and 14 siblings.
He is survived by his son, Paul Hastings Jr.; daughter, Lisa Johnson, her husband, Steve and their four children Austin, Lacey, Emma, and Jet; his daughter, Sheila Cates, her fiancé, Mark and their children Angie, Sarah, and John Luke; his son, Ray Hastings, his wife, Melissa and their three children Brady, Hunter and Brittany; his sister, Mary Bloominghurst of Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
