Patricia Anne Richards' Obituary
Patricia Anne Richards, 92, of Memphis died Friday, February 17, 2023 surrounded by her loving family in Childress, Tx.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at the First Baptist Church in Memphis with pastor Terry Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Viewing will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 20th from 1:00 – 6:00 PM with family receiving friends from 4:00-6:00 PM.

Patricia Anne Richards was born on December 28, 1930, in Altus, OK, to Gilbert Alberta and Ruby Tolliver (Martin) Richardson. After moving many times in her childhood years, Anne settled down and created a life in Memphis, Tx. She worked as a telephone operator for the local phone company for several years. She married the love of her life and husband of 73 years, Mack Richards, in Childress, Tx on November 19, 1949. After having children, Anne devoted her time to being a stay at home mother and wife. There was nothing she enjoyed more than taking care of her family.
Anne and Mack spent their summers for the past 30 years at their home in Hermit Lakes, CO. She loved being in the mountains. Anne was an avid card player and loved playing Bridge and 42. She was also an expert shopper, frequenting her favorite department store, Dillards. Anne was the former president of the American Cancer Society in the ‘70s. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Memphis.
Anne was a genuinely happy person who loved caring for others. She was an excellent cook, so her family and friends loved being hosted in her home. She deeply loved her husband, children, and being Granny Annie.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Susan Richards; brothers, Otho and Roy Richardson; sister, Francis Riggs; and sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Richardson.
Survivors include her husband, Mack of Memphis; sons, David Richards and wife, Kiesha, of Childress, and Robert Richards of Corpus Christi, TX; daughter, Casey Gonzalez and husband, Raul, of Memphis; brother, Howard Richardson of Childress; 7 grandchildren, Allie Rutledge and husband, Chase, Taylor Richards, David Clayton Richards, Gaynor Gonzalez, Levi Gonzalez and wife, Lacey, Mackewin Gonzalez, and Cody Reyes and husband, John; 4 great-grandchildren, Rafe Rutledge, Mack Rutledge, Madison Reyes, and Austin Reyes; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Fairview Cemetery or the Childress Regional Medical Center.
