Ovela Clarene Young's Obituary
Ovela Clarene Young, 82, of Shamrock died Thursday, September 12, 2019, in Wheeler, Texas.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 2:00 PM in Calvary Christian Fellowship with Rev. Joe Jernigan and Rev. Joseph Vallejos, officiating.
Cremation & Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
Ovela was born May 11, 1937, in Wellington, Texas, to Grady and Clarene Williams. She graduated from Shamrock High School in 1957 and married Jack Lee Fullbright in 1958. Together they had two sons, Jack and John. After Jack’s death in 1963 Ovela met and married Owen Young. They were married 20 years before he passed away in 1993. Ovela was a homemaker and she devoted her life to loving and caring for many many children in the Shamrock area.
One of Ovela’s greatest joys in life was spending the day on the bank of a good fishing hole with fishing pole in hand. In her later years she would spend her days gossiping with the nurses and residents of Wheeler Nursing and Rehab.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a great-grandson. She is survived by her two sons, Jack Lee Fullbright Jr., and wife, Deanna, of Memphis, and John William Fullbright and wife, Beth, of Shamrock. Four sisters Betty Erwin and husband, Jim, of Elk City, OK; JoAnn McLerran of Elk City, OK; Faye Jean Bridge and husband, Billy, of Willow, OK and Dorthy Bridge and husband, Leon, of Willow, OK. Six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Wheeler Nursing and Rehab for their dedication and care of Ovela during her years with them.
