Opal Ann Childress' Obituary
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 05, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at the Cornerstone Church Wheeler, TX with Rev. Dr. Alberta Helton officiating and Thom Childress assisting. Burial will be in the Wheeler Cemetery, Wheeler, TX under the direction of Wright Funeral Directors, Wheeler, TX. Opal was born on June 05, 1944 in Reydon, OK to Elmer Brown and Ruby Loretta West Brown. She attended school in Reydon, Ok thru the second grade. She then attended the third grade in Hiway, OK. Opal then in 1954 she attended Allison School where she finished her schooling. She work at several of the local convenient stores in the area. Opal married Carl “Shot” Childress on March 12, 1992 in Allison, TX. Opal is preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Ruby, 1 son Bobby Ray Megee in 1970, 1 sister Patricia Scott in 2000, 2 brothers Dale Brown in 1995, and Elmer Brown Jr. in 1997. Family visitation Saturday, June 04, 2011 from 4 - 6 p.m. at Wright Funeral Directors, Wheeler. Opal is survived by her husband Carl “Shot” Childress, 1 son Mike Megee of Wheeler, TX., 3 step sons Ronnie Bill Childress and wife Kim of Stinnett, TX., Duane Childress and wife Gena of White Oak, TX., and Thom Childress and wife Terri of Groom, TX., 2 sisters Nelda Babb and husband James of Wheeler, TX., Brenda Davis and husband Jerry of Pampa, TX., 2 brothers Robert Brown and wife Dena of Wheeler, TX., and James Brown and wife Debi of Hobbs, NM., 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. The family has requested in lieu of flowers and memorial be sent to Wheeler EMS P.O. Box 1030 Wheeler, TX 79096
