Odis Calcote's Obituary
MCLEAN SERVICES- 2:00 pm Saturday, January 19, 2013 in the First Baptist Church in McLean with Rev. Thacker Haynes, officiating. INTERMENT- Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of McLean. Odis was born September 3, 1927 in Kelton, TX to James Barksdale and Goldie V. Calcote. He was a 1946 graduate of Kelton High School. After high school, he began farming and married Katharine Abernathy on December 19, 1947 at Wheeler. Odis then went to work for Southwestern Public Service as a Lineman for 13 years until he started Calcote Electric inMcLean in 1964 where he served the community for 48 years. Along with working, he farmed and raised cattle all of his life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in McLean. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY- his wife, Katharine Calcote, on July 28, 2012; his daughter, Sherry Martin; 3 brothers, J.V. Calcote, Bobby Calcote, Thurman Calcote; 2 sisters, Doretta Moore, and Wanda Sailor. SURVIVORS - 2 sons, Harold Calcote and wife Sydney, of Denver, CO, and Howard Calcote and wife Ellaine, of Amarillo; 2 sisters, Odessa Mooney and husband Elwood, of Wheeler, and Oleta Ellis and husband Don, of Amarillo; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren
