O.D. Coulter Jr.'s Obituary
O.D. Coulter, Jr., 74, of Allison died Monday, May 7, 2018, in Wheeler.
Graveside Services will be 10:00 am Thursday, May 10, 2018 in Zybach Cemetery with Michael Price, officiating. Burial will follow at Zybach Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
O.D. was born June 13, 1943 in Denton County to O.D. and Martha Ann Riley Coulter. He married Louise Rogers on January 31, 1964 in Ponder. He grew up in Ponder and was a Master Printer for Moore Business Forms in Denton. He moved to Allison in December 1973 to take over his father in law ranching and farming. He was a member of the TSCRA, served on the Texas Farm Bureau board, as well as the school board. He was a man of his word and a hard working Christian cowboy. He loved his family beyond words. The family would like to thank Dr. Galutia and the Parkview Hospital for taking such great care and a special thanks to Jennifer Dukes of BSA Hospice of the Southwest.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Edward Coulter; 2 sisters, Billie Earlene Coulter and Deanne Watson; and a son by choice, Tommy Don Swafford.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Coulter of Allison; a son, Destry Coulter of Allison; a daughter, Michelle Bell and husband Guy of Amarillo; his grandchildren, Paden Coulter and wife Tori of Allison, Shealee Carlisle and husband Heath of Childress, Emily Coulter of Allison, and Levi Swafford and wife Lana of Briscoe; his great grandchildren, Gunner and Cayson Coulter of Allison, Tripp, Kannon, and Brayson Carlisle of Childress; a niece, Shari Anderson of Mesquite; a nephew, Gary Watson of Rowlett and many friends and family.
The family request in lieu of flowers that memorials be sent to the First United Methodist Church in Allison or the First Baptist Church in Allison.
