Norma Ruth Smith's Obituary
Graveside services will be Monday, January 29, 2018 at 2:00 PM in The Chapel at Fairview Cemetery, in Memphis, with Rev. Jeff Smith, pastor of First Baptist Church in Estelline, officiating.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors, Memphis.
The family will receive friends during the visitation at the funeral home from 4:00-6:00 pm on Sunday, January 28, 2018.
Norma Ruth Crow Lebow Smith, age 93, died on Friday, January 26th, 2018 in a private hospice home in Allen, Texas. Norma was born in Memphis Texas on September 16, 1924 and raised on a farm north of town, to Henry Clay and Malinda Crow. Norma was one of seven children. She is preceded in death by her parents and her six siblings, Weldon, Clay, Alva, Charlene, Sonny, and Wynona. She was married to Cleatus Lebow from 1941 to 1965. She was married to Jim Smith from 1975 until his death in 1981. Norma worked for GTE for over twenty years and retired in 1982. Norma left Memphis in 1988 to live near her daughters.
She loved sewing, music and painting and was an accomplished artist. She was a kind heart person with a gentle and loving personality and had a smile that would light up a room.
She is survived by her two daughters Sonja Lebow Rosson of Mineola, Texas, Cleata Anne and Roy Crutchfield of McKinney, Texas, and her son Jerry Lebow of Pampa, Texas. Norma had five grandchildren (Pepper Pippin, Tim Pippin, Jeff Reeves, Trisha Hughes and Tracy Lebow) and several great grand children, all of whom brought her great joy.
The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to caregiver and friend Debbie Pizinger, caregivers at Noble Senior Living Care Home and Compassionate Care Hospice.
