Nona Thelma Elmore's Obituary
Nona Thelma Green Elmore, 103, of Allison died on Monday, July 1, 2019 in Canadian.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 5, 2019 at the Wheeler Area Church of Christ in Wheeler with Shawn Zybach, officiating. Burial will follow at Zybach Cemetery in Briscoe.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Nona was born on November 16, 1915 in Nathan, AR to Wiley and Oda McLain Green. She married Clarence Glen Elmore on October 5, 1933 in Erick, OK. They then moved to Allison in 1934 and made it their home. Nona was a devote member of the Wheeler Area Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and taking care of her family. She was always busy. She was faithful and loving wife to her husband for many, many years until his passing. She was a good cook and a great pioneer woman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 1 daughter Beverly Ann Elmore Bowman; 1 brother Gilbert Green; 1 sister Myrtle Dorman; 2 half sisters Ruth Foshee and Theo Self; 2 half brothers Dennis Green and Clyde Green; 2 sons-in-law John Dan Bowman and Ray Giddens; 1 brother-in-law Bus Dorman; and 1 sister-in-law Argie Green; 1 niece Yolanda Williams; and 2 nephews Wayne Green and Danny Dorman.
Survivors include 2 daughters Glenna Sue Elmore Giddens of Wheeler and Phyllis Elmore Williams and husband Carl of Haslet; 1 son Larry Elmore and wife LaDonna of Briscoe; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; and many other brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to the Wheeler Area Church of Christ.
