Nelda Kay Jones' Obituary
Nelda Kay (Ritchie) Jones 70, of Memphis Texas took her final breath on Saturday, November 16, 2024 in Memphis, surrounded by her loved ones.
Nelda was born on July 28, 1954 in Amarillo Texas to William and Rebecca Ritchie and married Jerry Lynn Jones on April 21, 1972. They resided in Quanah Texas for many years where they spent most of their time enjoying their grandkids. Nelda attended Aladdin Beauty school and graduated in 1985. Later in life Nelda acquired her CDL where her and Jerry spent many years truck driving. She enjoyed spending any time she could with all of her family, taking trips to the casino, and her favorite meal of all time was crab legs. She was a loving mother and nana. She spent her last few days enjoying her kids, grandkids, and all of her great grandkids.
Survivors include her Daughters, Jennifer Manning of Quanah, Jamie Reynolds of Memphis, Jessika Jones and spouse Kathin Boggs of Memphis; Brothers Bobby Ritchie and wife Kristy of Memphis, Kenneth (Joe) Ritchie of Howardwick; grandkids Jared Manning, Jaden Manning and Chloe, Jerimy Manning and Mataya, of Cleveland Oklahoma. Janae Castillo and Husband Fidel of Memphis, Jada Zuniga and husband Tanner of Childress; Kaelyn Jones and Koltyn Boggs of Memphis and great grandkids, Sawyer, Maverick, Rayden, Audie, Grayson, Zyan, Valkyrie. and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Rebecca Ritchie husband Jerry Jones, sisters, Lorrie Shipp and, Wilma Mestas, brothers, Jack Rithcie, Donnie Ritchie, and Ronnie Ritchie.
Nelda's wishes were to not have a traditional funeral service. We will honor her request and appreciate your understanding as we fulfill her desire for simplicity and privacy. There will be a memorial service for her at a later date.
The family suggest memorials be made to Childress Regional Medical Center (Hospice)
