She was born on February 14th, 1953 in Dumas, Texas to parents Colleen and Clarence “Hawk” Alls. She was a 1971 graduate of Channing High School. She met the love of her life, Neal Champion Davis while attending Clarendon College. Champ and Nancy were soulmates and were married June 2nd 1972 in Dalhart. They were happily married for 41 years until Champ’s death in 2013.
Nancy had an infectious laugh and was a great friend to everyone she met. She loved using her crafty side making holiday clothing for her daughter, Nacy and mother, Colleen and later her granddaughter, Neely. Above all else, she treasured her children and grandchildren. Kash, Neely & Nanny would spend most of the day driving around the ranch, looking for critters, singing, and just enjoying each other’s company. She would always sing to them, “I love you a bushel and a peck, and hug around the neck.”
Nancy was a substitute teacher at Kelton ISD, where she was gentle and patience with all the students. She was a member of the Texas Cattle Women and the Texas Hereford Association when her children were little. She was also the driving force behind starting the giving away of jackets for the TCCA heifer, what is now known as the TJLA.
Nancy is survived by her mother, Colleen Alls; mother-in-law Cecil Davis; son Nealray and wife Jamie; daughter Nacy Long; sister-in-laws Melanie Alls and Mary Helen Daniel; brother Lynn Alls; brother-in-law George Davis and wife Deanna; grandchildren Kash Long, Neely, Champion, & Tuff Davis; many nieces & nephews, and great nieces & nephews. She loved her whole family with all her heart.
Preceded in death by husband, Champ Davis; father, Hawk Alls; father-in-law George C. Davis; brother Ronnie Alls, Sister-in-law Cynthia Corley.
The family suggest memorials be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Alzheimer's Association, or a favorite charity.
