Nan Gilbert's Obituary
Nan Gilbert of Shamrock, TX passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023 in Wheeler, TX at the age of 92 years, 6 months and 4 days.
A family directed Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 18, 2023 in the chapel of First Baptist Church in Shamrock, TX, with Rev. Mark Howard officiating.
Arrangements and cremation are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Nan was born on August 1, 1930 in Andrews, TX to the late Bill and Claudice (Clements) Twilley. She spent much of her life in Texas, as well as Albuquerque, NM. She first moved to Shamrock in 1966. Over the years she worked in retail, including Walmart, and was also a manager for the Dairy Queen in Shamrock. She was a talented seamstress and could sew anything from Barbie doll clothes to nice clothes for her family and friends. She volunteered with the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at the Shamrock Hospital and loved bowling and roller skating. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shamrock.
In addition to her parents, Nan was preceded in death by her daughter, Ricke Kirkland; one brother, Jay Twilley; and one sister, Jane Ann Shore.
Survivors include her son, Kurt Gilbert and wife, Debbie, of Shamrock, TX; one brother, Richard Twilley of Albuquerque, NM; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
