MEMPHIS SERVICES- 2:00 pm Saturday, October 1, 2011 in the First Baptist Church in Memphis with Rev. Judge E. Smith, Jr., Rev. Lawrence McPherson, and Rev. Lonnie Smith, officiating. INTERMENT- Fairview Cemetery in Memphis. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis. Myrtle May was born January 22, 1941 in Memphis to OD & Clara Matthews. She had been a lifetime resident of Memphis. She married R.C. Jenkins, Jr. on January 2, 1970. She was a member of the New Mount Zion Baptist Church. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY- her parents; her husband; a son, R.C. Jenkins, Jr.; 2 brothers, Roger Paul Matthews and Charles Edward Matthews; and 2 sisters, Caralann Spearman and Dorthy Patricia Matthews. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Jederreo Matthews of Memphis, Donnie Ray Matthews and wife Shekima of Amarillo, Jerry Dale Matthews of Memphis, Dennis Neal Jenkins of Amarillo, and Rudolph Proby of Pampa; 2 daughters, Annette Howleit and husband Terence of Chicago, IL and Loretta Weatherton and husband Howard of Memphis; a special granddaughter, Emily; her brothers, Henery Otis Newsome and wife Daisy of Georgia, California, and OD Matthews, Jr. and wife Melody Matthews of Memphis; her sisters, Marie Georage, Linda P. Divorce and husband Willie, Jennetta Fields and husband Kenneth, Oneta Mason and husband Bobby all of Amarillo, Jerry Scott Rogers and husband Loral, Erma Briley and husband Eward all of Memphis, and Tommie Ruth Proby and husband Ronnie of Pampa; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
