Milton Glenn Gripp's Obituary
HEREFORD / HICO SERVICES- 10:00 am Saturday, March 7, 2009 in the First United Methodist Church in Hereford with Rev. Darren Skinner, Pastor, officiating. INTERMENT- 2:00 pm in Claude Cemetery in Claude. Arrangements are by Rutledge-Jones Funeral Home of Hico & Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Milton Glenn Gripp, oldest son of Arthur & Mary Walker Gripp, was born in Conway, Texas on August 5, 1923. After graduation from Panhandle High School, he attended Texas Tech University and served in the 86th Blackhawk Division in World War II. Following the war, Glenn married Catherine Moring on February 9, 1947. They moved to their farm in Castro County south of Hereford in 1948 where they lived until 2006 when they moved to Hico, Texas. Glenn was preceded in death by his brother, Spicer; & his wife, Catherine of 61 1/2 years. He is survived by his 2 sons, Monte and wife Nellye of Hico, & Dean and wife Cathy of Enid, Oklahoma; a daughter, Gayle Probst and husband Mike of Brady, Texas; a niece, Nancy Stokes of Roswell, New Mexico; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandsons; cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
