Mildred Louise Henderson Gierhart's Obituary
Memorial services will be Tuesday, February 7, at 10:00 am in the Carillon Neil Chapel,
Lubbock, Texas.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, February 8, at 11:00 am at the
Shamrock Cemetery, Shamrock, Texas.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 - 7:00 pm at Robertson Funeral Directors in Shamrock.
Mildred Louise Henderson Gierhart was born on February 11, 1928, to Bud and Nora
Henderson in Wheeler County, Texas. She passed away February 4, 2017, in Lubbock,
Texas, one week before her 89 birthday.
Mildred had a zest for life and was active in her community and loved being with people.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shamrock, Texas. She was also a
fifty-year member of the Order of Eastern Star and served as Grand Matron. She
served many years in different capacities of the St. Patrick’s celebration. Mildred
worked many years in the banking business. She enjoyed genealogy and discovering
the history of Wheeler County. She and her husband, Milton, spent many days plotting
the Shamrock Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband Milton; parents Bud and Nora Henderson;
five brothers Acie, Joe, Kid, Ernest and T.B.; and 6 sisters Jessie Henry, Bessie Carver,
Murl Henry, Ruth Vaughn, Jeann Wisenbaker, and Bobbie Nell Burrell.
She is survived by her son, Mel and his wife Nancy, of Levelland. Two grandchildren,
Matt Gierhart and his wife Olivia, of Dallas, Texas; and Robin Morrison and her husband
Malcolm, of Dallas; two great granddaughters, Harper Gierhart and Maisy Morrison;
along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family asks that memorials be made to Hospice of Lubbock, Carillon Foundation or
First Baptist Church of Shamrock.
