MEMPHIS SERVICES- 10:00 am Monday, September 28, 2009 in the First United Methodist Church in Memphis with Rev. Mike Davis, Pastor of the First Assembly of God in Memphis, officiating. INTERMENT - Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mrs. Clayton was born May 25, 1917 in Lakeview to Robert Andrew and Mary Delia Cox Brame. She married James Thomas “J.T.” Clayton on January 7, 1937 in Amarillo. She had been married to her husband 72 years and 7 months. She had been a longtime resident of Memphis. She cared for the elderly in their homes with such a kindness. She also raised a lot of children as her own in Memphis. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Memphis. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY - her husband, on August 18, 2009; her parents; 5 brothers and 3 sisters. SURVIVORS - a son, Dwight Clayton and wife Linda of Memphis; 2 daughters, Elaine Potter and husband Doug of Houston and Diane Conatser and husband Johnny of Memphis; a sister, Maud Pauline Gibson of Dallas; 7 grandchildren, Victoria Weber and husband Bill, Russell Potter and wife Erin, Brian Clayton and wife Melissa, Brett Clayton and wife Felisha, Jason, Bradley, and Skyler Conatser; 5 great grandchildren, Travis, Courtney, and Amanda Weber, Jaycee Conatser, and Kayla Clayton. MEMORIALS - The family requests memorials be to Alzheimer’s Research or Citizens Cemetery Association / PO Box 983 / Clarendon, Texas 79226. Viewing will be 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm Saturday and Noon to 6:00 pm Sunday with family receiving friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Robertson in Memphis / 1644 North 18th Street / Memphis, Texas 79245.
