SHAMROCK
SERVICES – 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 11, 2012 in the First Baptist Church in Shamrock with Rev. Joe Jernigan and Rev. Mike Martin, officiating.
INTERMENT – Shamrock Cemetery in Shamrock.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
Melvin was born July 14, 1927 in Wheeler County to Ranious and Mella Hill. He married Barbara Ann Seymour on April 29, 1951 in Bethel community in Wheeler County. He made his home in Shamrock. Melvin was a sharp shooter in the Army until his discharge on December 4, 1959, he remained as a reservist for 8 years. Melvin retired from Ashland Carbon Black on March 1, 1984 after 32 years. He also farmed and ranched his entire life. Melvin was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY – her parents; 2 sisters, Patricia Hill and Kate Huckabee; a daughter, Cynthia Ann Hill; and a great granddaughter, Shayla Ann Willise.
SURVIVORS – his wife Barbara of the home; a son, Terry Hill and wife Jan of Shamrock; 3 daughters, LaDon Miller of Sayre, OK, Kathy Rhodes and husband Johnny of Shamrock, and Brenda Vermillion and husband Johnny of White Deer; 4 grandsons, Rusty Miller and wife Tamara of Cheyenne, OK, Dusty Rhodes and wife Robin of New Caney, Trinity Hill and Brandy of Shamrock and Brady Hill and Leigh Ann of Childress; 4 granddaughters, Sindi Lowe of Sayre, OK, Cheri Vermillion of Spearman, Kristina Herrick and husband Kevin of Amarillo and Lyndsi Hill and Rocky of Shamrock; Great Grandchildren, Madison and Colton Rhodes of New Caney, Hayden Herrick of Amarillo, Wyat Miller of Cheyenne, OK, Sean Lowe of Brookston, Indiana, Cutter Carson and Austyn Hill of Shamrock; 3 sisters, Lena Cook and Dorothy Glazner both of Shamrock, and June Dressler of Dallas; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
MEMORIALS - The family request memorials be sent to the Shamrock Cemetery Association or BSA Hospice.
The family will be at 106 South Alabama.
