Melissa Rozelle Lister's Obituary
Melissa Rozelle Lister, 67, of Shamrock, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 in McLean,TX. Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, February 24, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Shamrock with Pastor Mark Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Kelton Cemetery in Kelton. The family will receive visitors from 4:00-6:00 PM Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Robertson Funeral Directors in Shamrock.

Melissa was born September 1, 1957 in Shamrock, TX to Julia Hooten and was raised by her grandparents, Polk and Rozelle Hooten, who adopted her in 1966. She was a 1975 graduate of Shamrock High School. Melissa married her only love, Larry Lister, on September 30, 1983 in Kelton, TX. He preceded her in death October 1, 2022. She was a member of Shamrock First Baptist Church for 37 years, where she faithfully served. She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse and worked at Shamrock General Hospital for 34 years, retiring in 2022.
Melissa was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. After marrying Larry, she embraced the life of a farmer’s wife, even learning to drive a tractor and give shots to cattle. She was affectionately known as G-Ma to her grandchildren. She loved to play Uno with them and give them all the snacks they wanted. Melissa enjoyed crocheting and sewing projects throughout the years and sent many cards to people in her card ministry. She had a heart for anyone lonely and forgotten, including the stray cats in the neighborhood. Melissa had many close friends over the years whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband Larry; her mother; and her grandparents.
Survivors include three daughters, Leandra Henthorn and husband, Anson of Canyon, Erin Mason and husband, Nathan of Shamrock and Paige Meesala and husband, Sastry of India; seven grandchildren, Hawk, Scout and Oakley Mason, Samuel and Olivia Henthorn, and Joshua and Elisha Meesala.
