Maxine Davis Walker's Obituary
Maxine Davis Walker, 78, of Wichita, Kansas died Sunday, October 31, 2021 in Wichita, Kansas.
Services will be 1:30 PM Saturday, November 13, 2021 in New Mount Zion Baptist Church in Memphis, Texas with Rev. Judge Smith, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis.
Viewing will be held Friday at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
Maxine was born May 4, 1943 in Rotan, Texas to Vinson and Maebella Jackson Davis. She had been a resident of Memphis before moving to Wichita, Kansas in 1969. She loved cooking, listening to music, and cleaning.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Walker; 6 brothers, Roy Davis, Joe Vinson Davis, Charles Davis, Clyde Davis, Walter Davis, and Richard Davis; a sister, Alma Davis; and 3 great grandchildren, JaiRyiah Hughes, Keiontay Turner, and Keonna Turner.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jerry Downey and wife Erica of Wichita, Kansas; her daughters, Cassandra Downey of Wichita, Kansas, Sophelia Nina Rene Downey and companion John Bell of Wichita, Kansas; her brothers, Frank Davis of Dallas, Louis Davis of Midland, and Don Davis of Wichita, Kansas; her sisters, Dorothy Williams of Childress, Margaret Willis of Childress, Vivian Hamkim of Lubbock, and Patsy Davis of Cleveland, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
