Mary Ellen Hovey's Obituary
Mary Ellen Hovey, 88, of Mobeetie died Sunday, April 29, 2018, in Higgins.
Services will be 2:00 pm Friday, May 4, 2018 at Mobeetie First Baptist Church in Mobeetie with Terry Hovey, officiating. Burial will follow at Mobeetie Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Mary was born on June 4, 1929 in Wichita, KS to Harvey Vivian and Nora Ellen Kollenburn Wakefield. She married Ralph Wayne Harvey on February 28, 1947 in Grangefield, ID. They moved to Mobeetie in 1982 from Magnolia. She worked as a clerk in the First State Bank in Mobeetie until she retired. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 4 brothers Jimmy Wakefield, Dale Wakefield, Donny Wakefield, and Billy Wakefield; and a great-grandson Alec Leslie.
Survivors include 3 sons Wayne Hovey Jr. and wife Krista of Pasadena; David Hovey and wife Beth of Clovis NM, Terry Hovey and wife Terri of Higgins; a daughter Cindy Tomlinson of Wichita, KS; a sister Vivian Buchanon and husband Patch; 14 grandchildren Jill Hovey, Ross Hovey, Dewayne Hovey, Lashana Painter, Jeffery Hovey, Roshelle Parker, Robert Hovey, Jay Hovey, Daniel Hovey, Tiffany Hovey, April Bueno, Lisa Leslie, Larry Tomlinson, and Jeremy Tomlinson; 23 great-grandchildren Thomas, Kaitlyn, and Patrick McGahey, Ryan Hovey, Raschell and Jordee Hovey, Forrest, Drake, and Savannah Parker, Megan, Ky, and Jasper Leslie, Grace, Cooper, and Landry Tomlinson, Larissa, Jacob, and Tyler Tomlinson, Steven and Mark Bueno, Sean, Shad, and Shaynon Deal; and 3 great-great-grandchildren Christopher Jones and Johnathan McGahey, and Kharter Hovey.
The family request in lieu of flowers that memorials be sent to the First Baptist Church in Mobeetie.
