I was so sad to hear of Mary's passing today. She was such a gift from God for my family when my mom passed unexpectedly. We were lucky enough to get referred to Mary as a caregiver for my dad, Jim Chappell. Mary was always so patient and vigilent in her care of Dad. She stayed with him for almost 3 years until he moved away to be closer to my brother. She was an angel on earth for us. I want to thank the De La Cruz family for sharing her with us for those 3 years. I don't know what we would have done without her. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn this loss. She was a wonderful person and I'm sure she will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

Mary was such a person in her care of or Dad and I'm sure for many others.
Thank you Mary. RIP in the Lord's hand.

Mary and I were staying with my Dad (Jim Chappell) during the Christmas blizzard of ‘15. When the power went out there was no heat so we had to move Dad over to the “rent house” next door. It had a working gas stove in the kitchen, next to the living room. The living room had two recliners and a couch so all three of us could sleep fairly comfortably while the gas burners kept us warm. Mary helped me move my then 92 year old Dad across a windy, frozen, snow covered yard, 50 feet long, 8 inches deep, with blowing snow still coming down, in the middle of the night with no streetlights. Her help was immeasurable, truly a Godsend. She will always be appreciated.
Mary sat with my Dad, Jim Chappell, right after my Mom passed unexpectedly. She stayed with him over 3 years. We were so lucky to find her. Always sweet and patient. Took good care of everyone around her. She sat with a lot of people towards the end of their lives as they prepared to pass. I know she will have a lot of friend to great her in heaven. She will be greatly missed.
My deepest condolences to you all. Mary was such a loving sweet woman. She will be greatly missed. May the Lord wrap his arms around you all and give you strength and guidance in the months to follow.
