Martin Magallanes Sr.'s Obituary
In Loving Memory of Martin Magallanes Sr
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Martin Magallanes Sr, a beloved father, devout Christian, dedicated deacon, and associate pastor, who departed this world on October 25, 2023. He was 72 years old.
Martin’s life was a testament to his unwavering faith in the Christian tradition. As a devoted member of several churches, he served as a sentinel, deacon, and associate pastor, spreading the message of love, compassion, and salvation to all who knew him. His sermons were not just words but a reflection of his deep conviction and the kindness he showed everyone he met.
Beyond the walls of the church, Martin had a passion for cycling that allowed him to connect with the world around him and appreciate the beauty of nature. He would frequently ride with friends all over the Amarillo area and Palo Duro Canyon. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family, especially all his grandkids.
Martin joins his parents, Antonio and Elena, his brother Ignacio, and his wife Jeannie in Heaven. He is survived by his children and their families. His son Martin Magallanes Jr and wife Valerie, granddaughters Megan, Glory, and Rayna. Alicia Magallanes and fiancé Yesenia Caballero, grandson Keiyaun. Grandsons Dakota, Chase, Holden and granddaughters Kiera and Shelby. He also has six great-grandchildren with 3 more on the way. He also leaves behind five sisters. Laura Thorne, Maria and husband Jay Akridge, Pat Magallanes-Smith and husband Mike, Ana McClurg and husband Rick, Virginia Dunn, Gina Taylor and husband Scott, and many nieces and nephews.
Martin’s legacy of faith, service, and commitment to family will continue to inspire all who knew him. His departure leaves a void in our hearts, but we find solace in the knowledge that he is now in the arms of the Lord he served so faithfully.
May he rest in eternal peace, cycling on the heavenly roads of the afterlife.
John 16:22
And ye now therefore have sorrow; but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
