Martin Garza Casas, 79. Of Edinburg, Texas died Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas.
Viewing will be held Friday, January 31, 2025, from 9 am to 6 pm at Robertson Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas.
Rosary Service will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 11 AM also at Robertson Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Followed by a memorial drive throughout the City of Memphis en route to the cemetery.
Martin was born September 21, 1945, in Edinburg, Texas to Placido and Genoveva Casas. He married Juanita Casas May 6, 1970. He proudly worked for and served the City of Memphis for 27 years and was a father figure to 3 generations of strong, kind-hearted children. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family playing games, eating good food, singing, and dancing. He liked to play Bingo with his wife and kids and kept his mind sharp by completing daily crossword puzzles and word finds. He also loved to watch Westerns, Football, and Basketball. You could always find him tapping his feet and whistling a tune as he loved music throughout his life. He was a cherished man who was a strong fatherly role model to many.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Placido and Genoveva Casas, his Wife, Juanita Casas, as well as his children, Martin Jr. Casas and Maria Flores.
Survivors include his siblings; Jose and Mary Casas of Memphis, TX, Noelia and Isidro Torres of Amarillo, TX, Olga and Gabriel Garza of Amarillo, TX, Dora and Rual Ruiz of Houston, TX, Aminta and Cipriano Serna of Amarillo, TX, Norma and Juan Perez of Elsa, TX, Mary and Ricky Ruiz of Altus, OK, and Placido Jr. and Jackie Casas of Memphis, TX. His Grandchildren; Ashley and John Brown of Amarillo TX, Stephanie Flores of Memphis, TX, and Lisa Flores of Amarillo, TX. And his Great Grandchildren; Delfino Escalante of Amarillo, TX, Izaiah Valerio of Amarillo TX, Kiarra Johnson of Memphis TX, Louis Brown of Amarillo TX, La’Zayne Flores of Memphis, TX, and Za’Novia Flores of Memphis, TX. As well as many loved Nieces and Nephews.
Pallbearers Include: Isidoro Jr. Torres, Ruben Torres, Micah Casas, Ismael Cabrera, Izaiah Valerio, Amillion Cabrera, Angel Cabrera, and La’Zayne Flores.
