Lige, Danny and Charlie,
I am so sorry to hear about Martha. She was always such a sweet and kind person. She will be greatly missed in the community. You guys are in our prayers and I hope you can find comfort and peace in the Lord.

One of the many memories I have of Martha was a fishing expedition to one of the local farm ponds in Atoka. Martha was an accomplished fisherwoman and she helped me bring in the biggest bass I had ever and would ever catch. After we decided I was not snagged on anything we began excitedly reeling the fish in. When we got it on shore she had a fish scale and it came in at 10 lbs. She suggested to let it go back to reproduce itself since that was by far the biggest fish caught in that pond. She led me to the realization that farm ponds fishing was the very best of fishing anywhere. She was truly my Sister from another mother!
Other memories are with her and her precious boys. One even asked me to marry him at the age of 4. He will always be my “Sweetums”.
I also learned never to play with play dough with her and the boys. But going to see the original “Ghost Busters” with Mar th Car and the boys was one of happiest times of my life. I will miss my SFAM greatly but I know exactly where she is! Love to Lige, Danny and my Sweetums!
Dear Lige, Charlie and Danny……Martha was always walking the track when I would come in to town to visit ! What a great positive inspiration she was! She was full of love ! Hugs to yall .
I am grateful for my time working with Martha at Clarendon College, where her humor made every day brighter. One memory that always makes me smile is how we used to joke about the “disconnect” between admissions and financial aid—it never quite made sense, and we laughed about it often. I remember how much she loved dressing up for Halloween. We stayed connected through letters, cards and Facebook. Martha will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.--Susan and Lynn Russell
