Martha Lou Parker's Obituary
In loving memory of Martha Lou Parker (née Hogan), who at the age of 94, returned to her Lord on March 2, 2024, at her home in McLean, Texas. Born on Easter Sunday, March 31, 1929, in Roberts County, Texas, to Walter and Minnie Hogan, Martha's life was a testament to her enduring faith and the love she bore for her family and fellow man.
A lifelong servant to her community, Martha dedicated many years to enriching the lives of others through her work at the Lovett Memorial Library. Her commitment to education and literacy was unwavering, as was her devotion to the McLean Methodist Church. There, she worshipped and served, embodying the virtues of humility and kindness that were the hallmarks of her character.
Educated in the schools of Pampa, Texas—Sam Houston Elementary, Pampa Junior High, and Pampa High School—Martha's academic foundation laid the groundwork for a life of intellectual curiosity and a love for learning. Her hobbies, which included knitting, cooking, reading, and following baseball, provided her with simple joys and opportunities to share her talents and passions with those around her.
Martha's legacy is carried on through her beloved family: her sons Bryan Parker with wife Sheri, Brad Parker with wife Brenda, Ken Parker with wife Renee; her daughter Michele Bell with husband Kenneth; as well as her treasured 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is preceded iin death by her devoted husband, RC Parker, infant son Randall Craig Parker. her parents, brothers Buddy and Chuck and sisters Cleo and Lorita.
A traditional service to honor Martha's memory will be held at McLean Methodist Church on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM with interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Robertson Funeral Directors in McLean, Texas, is entrusted with the arrangements. The family extends an invitation to all those whose lives were touched by Martha to pay their respects and celebrate a life well-lived, a life of service, and a life of love.
