MARBLE FALLS SERVICES - Memorial graveside services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 22, 2010 in Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean, with Rev. Thacker Haynes, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church in McLean, officiating. INURNMENT - Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean. ARRANGEMENTS - Robertson Funeral Directors of McLean. Mrs. McCarty was born August 26, 1920 to Allen and Lula Hawkins Young of McLean. On April 1, 1942, she married George McCarty in McLean and had two children, Sandra and Mike. As a loving and faithful wife, she supported her husband in his coaching career. She moved with him to New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, Texas Western College in El Paso, the University of Wyoming in Laramie, and the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. She was an avid golfer, travelling all over the country to play with her husband and close friends. Marietta was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; her son, Mike; her daughter, Sandra; and her first grandchild, Rusty. SURVIVORS - her husband of 69 years, George McCarty of Marble Falls; 4 grandchildren, Todd Ashmore and wife Kristin, Amy Cozby and husband Trey, Carol Ashmore, Rebecca McCarty and husband Jimmy; and 4 great grandchildren, Courtney, Calley, Clay, and Cacey Cozby.
