Maria de Los Angeles Lopez's Obituary
Maria de Los Angeles Lopez, of Wheeler, TX, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at her residence at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 8 days. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Cornerstone Church in Wheeler, TX, with Rev. Erron Mercer officiating. Burial will follow at Wheeler Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Maria was born on March 8, 1945 in Aguas Calientes, Mexico to the late Antonio and Elvira (Guerra) Duenas. She grew up in Mexico and married David Lopez in 1971 in Chihuahua, Mexico. They moved to Wheeler County in Texas at that time and remained here ever since. Maria was a housewife and one of her favorite things to do was to cook for her family, whom she loved dearly. She also enjoyed shopping. Maria was a Catholic.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Elvira Duenas; one son, Jesus Duenas; and 4 brothers and sisters, Maximo Duenas, Juana Duenas, Gerardo Duenas and Francisco Duenas.
Survivors include her husband, David Lopez; brother and sister, Antonio Duenas and Patricia Duenas; 5 children, David Lopez, Jr., Yvette Venzor, Annette Badillo, Korina Lopez and Ceferino “Nino” Lopez; 19 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 2 on the way; and a host of other cousins, nieces and nephews.
