Margireen Childress' Obituary
Margireen Childress, 90, of Shamrock died Thursday, December 20, 2018 in Wheeler.
Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Sunday, December 23, 2018 in Shamrock Cemetery in Shamrock with Rev. Joe G. Jernigan, officiating. Burial will follow in Shamrock Cemetery in Shamrock.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
Margireen was born October 3, 1928 in Lela to Lee and Martha "Mattie" Hanes Francis. She married Pat Malloy Childress in 1952 in Clovis, New Mexico. She had been a lifetime resident of Wheeler County and had worked as secretary for Richerson Funeral Home for many years. She loved sewing, quilting, and cooking. She never had a bad word to say about anyone and was the gentlest, kindest woman you'll ever meet. She raised her children and family in a Christian home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 sons, David Childress and Steve Childress; 2 daughters, Nona and Brenda Childress; and 4 brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Loree Wright of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a sister, Sue Bench of Pampa; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
