Margaret Ann Robertson Vines' Obituary
Margaret Ann Robertson Vines, 86, of Wellington died on Saturday, November 10, 2018 in Wellington.
Services will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 11:00 am in the First Baptist Church in Wellington with Keith Martin, officiating. Burial will follow in North Fairview Cemetery in Wellington.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Viewing will be held at Adams Funeral Home, 1300 East Avenue, in Wellington on Monday, November 12, 2018 with Visitation from 5:00-7:00 PM.
Margaret was born April 29, 1932 in Clarendon to George Andrew and Sallie Elizabeth Robertson. She married Loyd Eugene Vines on June 3, 1949 in Lakeview. She had been a resident of Wellington since 1963. Margaret worked at Wellington Housing Authority as Executive Director for 50 years. She served on the Collingsworth Ambulance Service as Secretary/Treasurer from 1971 to 1995, 24 years. She also served on the Wellington Chamber of Commerce from 1969 to 1989, 20 years, and was awarded Collingsworth County Woman of the Year in 2014. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Wellington.
She was preceded in death by her husband Loyd, on October 17, 2008; her parents, Andy and Sallie Robertson; her brothers and sisters, Delbert Robertson, Glen Robertson, Maxine Howe, and Georgia Speed.
Survivors include her daughters, Pam Sherwood and husband Joel of Wellington, and Barbara Parker and husband James of Cache, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Wendy DeSpain and husband Robert of Live Oak, Texas and Holly Brown and husband Steve of Midlothian, Virginia; her great grandchildren, Destiny and Andrew DeSpain of Live Oak, Texas and Callie Marie and Collin Brown of Midlothian, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be sent to a favorite charity of choice.
