Loyd Eugene Vines' Obituary
WELLINGTON SERVICES - 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 in the First Baptist Church in Wellington with Rev. Kevin Everett, Pastor, officiating. INTERMENT - North Fairview Cemetery in Wellington. Loyd was born September 10, 1930 in Bastrop, Louisiana to W. M. and Annie Belle Foster Vines. He had been a resident of Collingsworth County for more than 40 years. He married Margaret Ann Robertson on June 3, 1949 at Lakeview. He farmed and ranched most of his life. He was a former member of the Wellington Volunteer Fire Department for several years and was also a former Wellington City Councilman. He was a Charter Member of the Chaparral Sam Travel Club and a member of the First Baptist Church. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY - his parents, 2 sisters, and 4 brothers. SURVIVORS - his wife, Margaret Vines of Wellington; 2 daughters, Barbara Parker and husband James of Cache, OK, Pam Sherwood and husband Joel of Wellington; a sister in law, Johnnie Ellis of Amarillo; 2 grandchildren, Wendy DeSpain and husband Robert of Lawton, OK, Holly Brown and husband Steve of Yukon, OK; 3 great grandchildren, Destiny and Andrew DeSpain of Lawton, OK, and Callie Marie Brown of Yukon, OK; and several nieces and nephews. MEMORIALS- The family request memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church / 1106 15th Street / Wellington, Texas 79095 Viewing will be held from 10am until service time Wednesday in the Church.
